Privacy Policy

Last updated 17 September 2026. This policy is written to comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

Who we are

Eagles Martial Arts — Centurion (Eagles Karate Club) is a martial arts club training at 107 Klip Street, Hennopspark and 100 Maraboe Street, Rooihuiskraal, Centurion, Gauteng, South Africa. Our Information Officer is R. Bruwer, reachable at admin@nulleagles.co.za or on 082 959 9493.

What this website collects

When you contact us

If you email us, WhatsApp us, or send a message through a form on this site, we receive the name, contact details and message you send, and nothing else. It is read by the club owner. We use it to answer you and, if you join, to set you up as a member. We do not sell it, share it with anyone outside the club, or add you to a mailing list.

How long we keep it: enquiries that do not become memberships are deleted within 24 months. If you join, your details move into our member records and are kept for as long as you are a member and for five years afterwards, which is what our accounting and insurance obligations require.

Forms hosted by Jotform

Some pages on this site — membership applications, class attendance sign-in, grading entries, event bookings — use a form provided by Jotform, a third-party form service. What you type into those forms goes to Jotform’s servers, which are outside South Africa, and then to us. Jotform’s own privacy policy governs how they handle it. We use these forms for club administration only.

Google Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics, installed through Google’s Site Kit plugin, to understand how the site is used — which pages are visited, roughly where visitors are, and what device they use. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser and sends this usage information to Google’s servers, which are outside South Africa. We do not use it to identify individual visitors and we do not run advertising on this site. You can block it with Google’s opt-out browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, or by blocking cookies in your browser.

Server logs and cookies

Our web host records the usual technical information about every request to this site — IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. This is used for security and troubleshooting. Apart from Google Analytics, this site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. WordPress sets a small number of functional cookies only if you log in, which visitors do not need to do.

Photographs of members, including children

This is the part of this policy that matters most, so it is stated plainly. Photographs taken at classes, gradings, camps and tournaments are used on this website, on the club’s social media and in club advertising.

  • Written consent from a parent or guardian is obtained before any identifiable photograph of a person under 18 is published.
  • Consent can be withdrawn at any time, and you do not have to give a reason.
  • If a photograph of you or your child is on this site or on our social media and you want it taken down, WhatsApp or email the Information Officer. It will be removed from anything we control within seven days.
  • Where consent is not held or is unclear, we use photographs shot from behind, wide group shots where no single face dominates, or detail shots.

A photograph already published elsewhere by a third party — a tournament organiser or a federation, for example — is not ours to remove, but we will tell you who to ask.

Your rights under POPIA

You may ask us, at any time, to:

  • tell you what personal information we hold about you or your child
  • correct anything that is wrong
  • delete information we no longer have a good reason to keep
  • stop using your information for a particular purpose, such as photographs

Send the request to admin@nulleagles.co.za and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with how we handle it, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforegulator.org.za.

Security

Member records are kept on club-controlled systems with access limited to the club owner and, where a coach needs it to do their job, to that coach for that purpose only. We do not store bank card details of any kind.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of it. If we add any new tool that collects information about visitors, this page is updated before that tool goes live.
